Desktop Publishing (DTP)

Multilingual Desktop Publishing (DTP) services involve taking your existing English electronic files, created in graphic design programs such as Adobe InDesign, PageMaker, MS Publisher, QuarkXpress, PowerPoint, etc. and replacing the English text with the translated foreign language text in such a manner that the original layout is maintained, including all fonts, colors, graphics, etc. STI can then provide the resulting foreign language material in a format consistent with your needs (e.g. printable files, camera-ready, hard copy, etc.).

Formatting

Basic formatting services cover translated material to be delivered in basic word processing applications, such as MS Word, but with complicated or unusual layouts, such as complex tables and charts, text boxes, etc. that need to be recreated from non-editable source files, such as scanned PDFs or hard copies.

Section 508 Compliance

STI can also provide Section 508 Compliance services, which ensures that translated products are in a form and format that allows individuals with visual or sight-related disabilities to access them online. We utilize a checklist methodology to test and verify documents are compliant with Section 508 requirements, checking such items as general layout and formatting requirements, document image requirements, and document table requirements.
